About

The narrative is the single most important driver in my work. In a world of tribalism and conflict, I believe more than ever in its power to create possibilities for human connection.

Teck Siang LIM

Growing up and living in Singapore's multiracial and multicultural environment has shaped Teck's interest in collaborating across cultures, and he has worked on cross-border projects across Asia, including South Korea, Malaysia, Philippines and Los Angeles. Singapore's unique mix of slick cosmopolitanism juxtaposed with traditional and local ways of life are a constant source of material and inspiration.

In his approach to narrative cinematography, Teck seeks balance between poetry, emotion and technical precision. In addition to lensing narrative projects, Teck also regularly shoots commercial projects. He completed his Masters in Cinematography at the American Film Institute, supported by the Singapore Info-Comm Media Development Authority's Media Education Scholarship. Teck’s narrative works have screened and won multiple awards at festivals including: Singapore International Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival, Chicago International Film Festival, International Critics’ Week @ Cannes, Pan African Film Festival, AFI Fest, EngeraCAMERIMAGE, Busan International Film Festival, International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival and more.
